The day of our wedding turned out better than I ever could imagine. There was a wedding Saturday, so I tried to be accommodating with layouts and kept what was used the night before. In return, Alex & Kathy salvaged anything they could from the night prior to reuse for us. Kathy even washed (and rewashed) table linens so that I could have “dressier” bistro tables at my cocktail hour. The attention to detail made me feel so incredibly special on my wedding day.

While we were doing group photos, Kathy mentioned she did not allow alcohol inside the house. We were able to carry drinks in the bridal suite, around the grounds, and in the pavilion. Honor her wish by leaving your cups out of her home and all is well. Trust me, the pictures are worth it.

After the ceremony and cocktail hour, Kathy timed the sunset perfectly for dinner. Everyone was in awe. Our guests could not stop gushing about the amazing views and perfect timing for everything. Even the band I blindly booked off her recommendation was outstanding (Shout out to Randy McLellan you were the best, seriously). I can promise you if I tried to do this alone, it would not have turned out half as perfect.

I'm a wedding vendor, and have worked with Kathy on multiple occasions. I felt compelled to offer an alternate view from some of the bad (and hateful) reviews left here. In short, Kathy is fantastic to work with. She goes the extra mile, consistently, and her property is laid out amazingly well. She keeps enough staff to take care of her clients/guests very well and I've never seen anything but the utmost of professionalism from her. The view from the pavilion is to die for, especially on nights where there's a low-hanging fog over the valley. It's breath-taking. Highly recommended.

The week of our wedding, (as any bride should know) was stressful. The weather was horrible, and we had to come up with rain plans. Tennessee’s liquor laws has us without a way to get our kegs to the property (We got married on a Sunday). Kathy quickly offered up her husband to pick them up for us on Saturday, ice them until the wedding, and return them the next day. This saved us quite a bit of stress and money. (Thanks again, Brian!)

Absolutely beautiful location. I went to a wedding here and the scenery and buildings are perfect. Would love to come back here for another wedding.

As an extreme perfectionist, I do not do anything without rigorous research and due diligence. Once we were back in Chicago, I went on Wedding Wire for two hours and could not find one poor review about this place or Kathy. A week later, we booked our wedding.

I can’t imagine when these other reviews were posted, things were much different. Kathy’s experience and recommendations, tied with Alex’s floral genius, amazing style, and part time therapy (Can’t thank you enough, Alex!) made this experience truly pleasant. It made someone who had little time to spend planning a wedding, enjoy every minute. Together they paid such close attention to my style, my taste, and my concerns. Coming from a complete control freak - give them some leeway and I promise your wedding will not disappoint. I may have left Front Porch Farms a married woman, but also gained some really great friends. Kathy & Alex – you guys are the best.

Since I didn’t live in the area, I knew nothing. I felt incredibly comfortable taking recommendations from Kathy and Alex. Kathy is strict about her vendors, but for a reason. Ask her. So many times I joked, “I’m totally trusting this lady. This wedding is either going to be one for the books, or a total flop and I’ll find out on my wedding day!” Midway through planning, the caterer I wanted to use pulled out. I was extremely skeptical about the one that she wanted me to use from the beginning because I thought they were too casual. Kathy walked me though why they’d be the best, and what she could do to “dress up” the buffet. Our guests are still talking about how amazing our food was. Most went up for thirds. Trust her.

My husband and I visited several wedding venues and after stopping by Front Porch Farms (in Winter no less) we both unanimously agreed that it was the place we wanted to get married. We had an incredible experience. I wanted a wedding day that I was fully present for, and Kathy and Alex delivered. I have distinct memories of looking around at our reception, and thinking to myself, "This is magical." The beautiful light of golden hour was streaming in, and everything I had dreamed up was there. The entire day was completely stress-free for me, which was helpful, because I just wanted to marry my best friend! I am not a typical Southern bride because I am originally from the Midwest, and I am a designer by trade. I was so happy that Alex was able to incorporate my family's driftwood and agates from the Northwoods seamlessly into the nature/geometric aesthetic I had imagined. It was fun to be able to lend my own ideas for design without the stress of making it happen! Many people told us that ours was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. I think that was partly due to the beautiful surroundings and partly due to the fact that we were able to host an incredible event while keeping the main thing the main thing--thanks to the expertise of the staff at Front Porch Farms! If I had to do it all over again I would absolutely get married at Front Porch Farms. We chose to trust that they knew what they were doing, and it absolutely paid off.

IF...You want to be out, in nature...in a peaceful and serene environment...THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU...

My husband and I got married in September at Front Porch Farms. We are from Chicago, and were very skeptical about doing an out of state wedding. From the very first visit, Kathy Best (Owner) and Alex Westerhouse (Planner/Floral Designer/Wedding Stylist/My New Best Friend) were absolutely amazing. They showed us around, invited us in to look at albums, and discussed all package options. I went into this a super skeptic. Chicago is a very competitive wedding market, and I had been let down quite a bit. Kathy and Alex both humored us and were incredibly personable. We knew this was the spot for us.
